• TRU Energy has around 1.2 million homes and businesses customers in Australia and employing over 1000 staff.

• TRU Energy manage a range of energy assets including electricity generation, energy contracts management and energy trading, gas storage and retail energy services also TRUenergy operates power stations in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.

• In March 2011 the retail business of Energy Australia was acquired by TRU Energy from the NSW Government.

• TRU Energy is owned by China Light and Power, China Light and Power is based in Hong Kong and is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

• Prior to the acquisition by China Light and Power, the company was called TXU.

• The retailing and generation part of the business is now TRUenergy whilst the distribution part of the business was sold to Singapore Power and is called SP AusNet.
