Ergon Energy is owned by the Queensland Government.
Ergon owns assets of $8 billion and employees over 4,500 employees.
Ergon’s distribution network covers a huge 1.7 million square kilometres and consists of approximately 150,000 kilometres of powerlines and one million power poles.
They provide power to approximately 650,000 homes, businesses and coparations across Queensland.
Ergon Energy also owns and operates a massive 33 stand-alone power stations.
Ergon Energy remains the only retailer in Northern rural and regional Qld. Although full retail competition was introduced into Queensland in July 2007.
