Alinta Limited is a major Australian energy company with interests comprising energy generation, transmission, distribution and retailing.
Alinta employs around 780 people at 14 locations across Australia and New Zealand. Alinta serves more than 700,000 residential and commercial & industrial energy customers.
Alinta was previously known as Alinta Gas and was origally owned by the Government of Western Australia.
When the State Energy Commission of WA (Western Australia) was broken-up in 1998, Alinta Gas was privatised and sold.
In August 2011 they launched their electricity offers in South Australia and are expected to expand into other states over the coming year.
